Challenge
Pioneer Natural Resources, a Fortune 100 company, initially approached iCoStore to present and bid on their branded swag store program. Although iCoStore did not win the bid, we remained committed to being a resource to them regardless of the outcome. Another promotional products distributor won the business, based on promises of an on-demand model and other features that we knew were not feasible with their existing infrastructure.
Just three months after selecting the other vendor, Pioneer reached out to iCoStore again. They reported that the vendor had not delivered on their promises: there was no functioning website, the on-demand offering was extremely limited to just a few items with minimum quantities, and the overall program did not meet expectations. Pioneer asked if iCoStore would still take them on as a client, and we enthusiastically agreed.
Opportunity
Pioneer needed to quickly launch a functional, reliable, and flexible store, especially since they had a major company anniversary coming up. The store needed integrated to their Single Sign On (SSO) and integrated to their accounting as well as offer high-quality on-demand and in-stock items.
Solution
iCoStore got to work immediately, launching the swag store within just three weeks. We stocked the store with a wide selection of high-end inventory and name brand on-demand apparel and swag. They ensured it was generously funded for all employees to celebrate the anniversary. The launch was a major success, with employees enthusiastically engaging with the store and redeeming their credits.
Following the successful launch, iCoStore continued to support Pioneer by regularly adding new items, including custom t-shirts and fun, creative designs across different products. We built a second store specifically for event purchases, enabling streamlined ordering for various company functions and holidays. Additionally, Pioneer used the store for safety awards by giving employees credit to redeem branded items.
Results
By stepping in when the original vendor failed to deliver, iCoStore rescued the Pioneer program and turned it into a successful, long-term partnership. The initial store launch exceeded expectations, and the continuous expansion of the store’s offerings kept employees engaged. Pioneer appreciated the flexibility, reliability, and ongoing support provided by iCoStore, cementing a valuable and lasting relationship.
